Steve Moises is a visual artist and storyteller based in Los Angeles. Known as @tropicsalvi on social media, his work is inspired by the natural wonders of the rainforest, Mesoamerican folklore, and his favorite outdoor activities. He is a 1st generation Salvadoran American. Born in Los Angeles, he has been involved in arts programs on the East and West coasts. He lives in Southern California, where he earned a bachelor’s degree in Visual Media from University of California Riverside.
Steve’s career as a visual artist expands across various mediums-ranging from film production to graphic design. However, since 2018, he has turned his full attention to illustrating and developing original content for children with the goal of increasing the diversity and positive representations of Latinx stories and characters in the U.S. Below are samples of his artwork.
